A Reason

They termed him the "rebel"
Never the Teacher's pet!
He was what they all called, "Difficult"

There was something in him,
which made him the rule breaker!
Some called it arrogance,
some other, dis-regard!

He was not called obedient..
It didn't bother him
ANd so he remained the exception!

Till one day, some considerate soul,
walked up to him...
what understanding came upon that stranger,
no one knew....

But that considerate soul,
just gave him a reason,
for each and every rule there was!

And in so doing,
didn't use authority to make him a rule-follower
but allowed him freedom
and let his reasoning rule....

Then on, he followed every rule there was!!

Now that you are out of school and college and are a professional ... have you noticed that the back benchers , the rule breakers, the naughty kids in class (at least most of them) are in a better position than you, you who used to think that being good in academics and sticking to the rules would ensure you success..

Schools in India have to teach kids how to survive in the outside world and not how to make it a better place...

So if you ever have kids don't scold them too much for not being the ideal student..scold them a little , but be glad in ur heart that ur kids are learning the tricks to survive and are streetsmart...

Could not quite empthathize, but the story-telling style was good !

It becomes increasingly difficult (as you grow old) to blaze the trails !!!

Excellent!
Monu, i've not been blogging in a long time..... work!
This is a sight for my sore eyes :)

Rebels dont mind rules...
They just dont wanna be treated like fools.

They dont like getting herded...
but give them a reason and tell them where they will be headed.

They will make up their own minds..
With "truth and reason" they have ever lasting binds!

To a rebel, even a rule is just a matter of fact...
so to just tell them is the tact!

makes sense?

This post perfectly suits yesterday's episode of (NDTV's) 'We the people' hosted by Barkha Dutt. Yesterday's topic : Is there too much of sex on TV and movies ...

Amazingly, most people on the show(aged between 20 and 50) felt that it was okay to have so much in the movies and on TV. They even wanted the censor board to be done away with !!!!!
