My kind of stories....

I watch a lot of Tv during the weekends...i manage to do that even if we don't have Set top Box in my house.....

ANd i saw two inspiring stories in the most unlikeliest of places. So here goes:

(i) About Little Budhiya in Aaj tak

Aaj tak has a show called Vishesh report or something that is shown on weekends. Some of the most bizarre stories have been covered here. When i was changing channels as usual, I came upon the program, and this story was really inspiring.

Poor kid, he was sold as a toddler for a mere Rs.800 by his poor mother, who made a living by washing vessels . The little boy has a hidden talent. At all of three years age, he can run 50 kms continuosly. But nobody knew his hidden potential. He was just sold.

But God smiled upon him and a judo coach of a judo academy heard about the boy who was sold and rescued the Kid. Budhiya was then provided accomodation and food in the judo academy. One day, the coach askes the boy to circle the ground as a punishment and comes a long time later to see the boy still running, and that was when the boy's hidden potential was realised.

This is a big story in Orissa. The governor of the state has even met the boy. Amazing isn't it?
Hope the government does something for this boy. He is planning to enter the Guinness book of records for running the longest distance at his age.

:)

(ii) Ahsok Mehta's story on Zoom TV

Now zoom is mostly about Page 3. There is a program called "Main hoon", which talks about the story of the poeple behind the stars and this episode was about cinematographer, Ashok Mehta.

He was once a hawker who sold eggs. He took the camera creew to the location in the road where he was selling eggs. And when that business didn't do well, he shifted shop and started selling watermelons in the pavement. He casually says about the day he spent in jail for an offence as small as encroachment on a pavement!

He points to a man sleeping in the pavement and says his life was just like that, simple..... and today he is a renowned cinematographer. Wow! what a growth..really inspiring..he had nothing in his stride...but look where he is now..

He then took up some little work in some studio and slowly climbed his way up..great isn't it?

There used to be a program on DD called "going on". It was also about poeple who are challenged in some way or the other and their success story..the ordinary people, not the page 3 or the celebs, just the ordinay ones.... such stories always inspire me....

I complain a little less about life after watching these....
