Harry potter and the half-blood prince

Just like every other Saturday evening, I went to my library to take a book and also a nice walk…once I was in the library, I chatted up with my librarian and asked him whether the rent for HP-6 had indeed come down to Rs.35….He smiled and told me that it was available at Rs.70 only….he also seemed very good at his trade, he gave me one smile and told me that book was available in the rack…..

Someone had said –“ The best way to overcome temptation was to yield to it”
As much as I didn’t want to shell out Rs.70 as a rent for a book…I couldn’t resist the temptation, I yielded..and borrowed the book…there was another catch, the book was to be returned on Thursday….Hello, it was only on Saturday evening that I am borrowing the book…not even a week for my hard-earned 70 bucks?????

Anyways, nothing matters before good old temptation…I borrowed the book and read it at a go…didn’t want to end up paying fine above the rent…okay, I give credit to Rowling…this book became interesting right from the beginning..no boring introductions and descriptions..very well written.

I did feel a little sad at the end, I usually don’t feel upset if some fictional character is dead, but at this one, I did feel sad….didn’t how my Sunday went , as I was really engrossed in the book…may be better than her previous books…

I like the fact that the heroes in the book are only normal people, who make mistakes with judgment and place trust in the wrong place.

Harry gets an old copy of the “Advanced potions book” , signed that it belongs to “The Half blood prince”. There are lots of helpful tips in the book and Harry is completely in awe of this “prince”. Harry does well in his potions class thanks to the scribbling in the book by the half-blood prince…Harry slowly begins to trust The Prince and begins to try out every little charm or hex suggested by the prince in the book.

Hermione gets suspicious and warns harry against following the suggestions scribbled by the Prince in the Book. Harry does not listen, as the knowledge from the book had once helped Harry save Ron’s life….

In a similar situation, Dumbeldore refuses to listen to Harry’s warning that Snape is not to be trusted…. Dumbeldore does not listen to Harry because Snape had been helpful to him…..and so brilliant too…..

Was Hermione right? Who is “The Half blood prince”? Was Harry right in warning Dumbeldore against Snape? Was Dumbeldore’s judgementy right? What secrets does Harry learn about Voldemort?

Read the book to know more…I liked it…

I Liked the part where Harry pretends to give the “lucky potion” ( one that will turn your day into a lucky one) to Ron ( who has a serious problem of nerves..he gets real nervous at pressing situations) right before a quiddtich match. Ron believing that he had indeed taken the “lucky” potion has this amazing air of confidence about him and guides the team to victory…………Harry later tells him that it wasn’t the potion..it was just Ron’s ability and confidence that the day would be lucky for him…something for me to learn from…..

I too liked that part of Harry pretending to give it to Ron.
As I have seen one movie of Harry Potter, as I read the book, I keep visualising with the characters. So at this age, Harry looks horrible. Hermione looks sweet.
