Lie!

I have my own fears
as to how we would pull through
this miserable time of our life
where the only sure thing,
is unsurety!

Yet I couldn't bear to scare you
I would try my best to protect you
So I try my act one final time
before the ever faithful mirror

And then I face you
with that false mask of confidence
I smile and heartlessly lie
"Don't worry! This is nothing! I will take care!"

some how.. i dont know how...

but it is infinitely more comforting to hear it ("Don't worry! This nothing! I will take care!") from some one else other than the figure in the mirror..

Also, it is that much easier to tell that to some one else than to yourself ... you will feel inifinitely wonderful(to have said it) !

may be that's why people are social animals?

PS:
if what you say is not a lie, then the feeling is indescribable.

And some people just dont know how to handle being "the first!". I am talking about myself. Felt soo good to comment as "the first" on the post, that i made a mess of it! both the deleted comments are mine . hee hee..

The guy says "Don't worry! This is nothing! I will take care!", gathering all the courage that he has.... But he knows that what he actually means is
"Don't worry! Our situation is bad, and it really requires a hell of an effort from me, but still, I will take care!"...
Just a different way of saying it, but it matters so much for the listener!

You seem to be sounding 'against' the speaker... Is that so? To call this a 'lie' would be harsh... Well technically it might be a lie, but its the intention that matters. Not all lies, are 'lies' :-)

That is just not a lie, it is a lie of life.
