Power cut!

She always liked it when the lights suddenly went off in her office
There, with just the light from the monitor illuminating her face
She would travel back in time,
when a power cut meant non-stop games in the terrace
and a get-together in the road, where vehicle population was always low
and amidst all that mumbling and grumbling about mosquitoes,
silent prayers asking that the power cut stays just a little bit longer!

PS: I always liked power cuts..that was when we would play without being interrupted by calls to go and study........

I used to hate it when powercuts occurred and that was when

1. You are preparing for a test.
2. You are back from a few hours of sweating it out in the ground and want to cool down before your bath,
3. When there's a LAN party goin on and the UPS wouldn't last for the duration of the power cut.
4. When You just havta go.

I used to love it.. when I could creep up behind somebody and scare the living "darkness" out of HIM (Yeah unfortunately only him's so far)

used to go to the terrace of my apartment incase of power cut. although the cool breeze was one of the reasons for frequenting the terrace it also provided me the opportunity to catch up with my friends / neighbours.

I live in a land where there are no powercuts......anyway I don't know any neighbours here :-)

@kaps

catching up with friends was the best part of power-cuts....
powercuts was when we played..long back when i was in school....

Hmm , I agree with kary, powercuts can really get to you on a Chennai hot summer afternoon!
Breezy evenings, and when i was a small boy, yes i used to like it, We used to play hide n seek, 7 stones, french cricket, 'land' etc... wow, what lovely memories! Those were the days...
but nowadays, with so much stuff on TV, i jus cant stand powercuts! When cricket it ON, dont even ask! When Baywatch is ON, dont even think about asking :) kiddddinnggg ...
